Daresbury Laboratory is not an institution of higher education; it is a national research laboratory in the U.K. The SCAT partners belong to the Computational Science and Engineering Department. This unit provides world-class expertise and collaborates with universities in the development and application of powerful simulation codes.
The main areas of activity of the SCAT members at Daresbury are: turbulence and combustion, aerodynamics, environmental modelling, microfluidics, gas dynamics and also high-performance computing enabling (software engineering, portability, optimization, scalability studies, etc.).
